It's flu shot season again!

Having received feedback from patient surveys and to mitigate the number of telephone calls our medical receptionists receive during the Flu Shot season, our clinic is testing out the online appointment feature for Flu Shots.

If you are having difficulty using the online booking tool, or if you are hoping for a different appointment date/time, please call our office at (519) 837-8137 and book with one of our medical receptionists. This service is only available for booking your Flu Shot appointment.

If you are trying to make an appointment with a doctor/nurse practitioner, please call our office at (519) 837-8137.

Thank you.

Important Information

We recommend the flu vaccine to all of our patients. We especially recommend the vaccine for the following patient groups: age over 65 or under 2 years, and those with asthma, diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, coronary artery disease, has had by-pass surgery, respiratory problems or congestive heart failure.

Patients over 65 are given the option to receive a high dose form of the vaccine. There is a limited amount of high dose vaccine available. If you are unable to receive the high dose flu shot, it is best to get the regular flu shot instead of no vaccine. If you are receiving the flu shot somewhere else (eg. pharmacy) be sure to check if they are giving you the high dose form.

Children must be at least 6 months old to receive the flu shot. If this will be the first time your child receives the flu shot and they are under the age of 9, it is recommended that they come back 1 month later to receive a booster flu shot.

Please plan to attend our pre-booked flu shot clinic. Due to COVID19, we ask that you only attend the flu clinic if you have a booked appointment.

You may get your flu shot at our office, your pharmacy or at Public Health. If you are getting a flu shot elsewhere, please call us back with the date and location of where you received your shot or ask the provider to fax us the details to 519-822-8240.
